There are lots of courses you can attend to help you on your way giving you good woodsman skills and knowellege.

There are lots of informative websites and magazines on the topic, although there is alot of mis-information out there.

 

The rule I use is 'knowellege before gear.' so you effectively learn more so you can do with less.

 

The links below are sites I highly recommend, and any course taken wil be well worth the money.

E-learning is something which is becoming popular ... the Frontier bushcraft site run by Paul Kirtley currently runs a plant and tree identification course, with live webinars throughout the year to help you identify edible / useful plants and trees and avoid harmful ones.

Paul is very approchable and will help answer any questions you may have. Courses tend to be run in England, so can be hard to organise and attend if your travelling from N.Ireland, so e-learning prior to a course is fantastic, giving you a great head start.
